Our
fish room, with over 10,000 gallons in holding capacity, is simply
a work of art. We went back to the drawing boards in the design
of this place, determined to redefine the science of keeping fish
for the new millenium. We currently operate 16 different recirculating
systems in the fishroom. Our sumps are massive, averaging 10 feet
in depth. They are dug directly into the floor of the warehouse
and constructed out of poured concrete. This design insures thermal
integrity, especially during the hottest part of the summer. A unique
gravity flow design on all systems has allowed us to achieve unparalleled
energy savings and a new standard of reliability in operations.
All systems feature digital automated water quality control electronics,
providing an individualized and ideal constant environment. Six
thousand seven hundred ninty total watts of quartz shielded ultraviolet
sterilization, coupled with the best available fluid, bead, biofiltration
technology gives us an unsurpassed edge in healthy fish keeping.
In the winter months, all systems except our cold water fish are
heated by high efficiency natural gas fired tankless water heaters,
coupled to a sump mounted titanium heat exchangers. Heating the
water instead of the air provides an ideal constant temperature
for our animals, as well as allowing a comfortable working temperature
in our warehouse. We recessed much of the drain plumbing on all
systems under the floor, and installed full floor drains throughout,
providing for a clean, uncluttered and visually pleasing working
environment.
