Jimmy was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and was raised in the Lapeer, Michigan area. Getting his first fish tank from a garage sale at the age of 11, he unknowingly set the wheels in motion to be forever more a fish geek.

Much later in life his first pet store job was at PetsMart as the Lead Specialty Opener. After a year and a half he was approached by the owner of The Fish Store N More and was given a job in their freshwater department. Working there for 2 years then taking 2 years off, he returned to The Fish Store N More as the new Freshwater Director.

Jimmy has 4 fish tanks and a koi pond at home right now, scaling down from the 12 he once had…"can you say fish nerd??" He has a 125 gallon freshwater planted tank, a 120 gallon African cichlid tank, a 58 gallon saltwater reef tank, a 45 gallon saltwater reef tank and a 250 gallon outdoor koi pond. Will it ever stop? Probably not!

Now he enjoys the wholesale industry and the relief it has had on his wallet.
